That is really weird! Maybe she has only edited a few and has never heard of teaser pix?
Haha, apparently she hasn't! Oh well...at least now I know she didn't erase them on accident and was just afraid to tell me (a scenario which has crossed my mind, because I'm crazy). :)
wow, that's absolutely ridiculous. I would be LIVID. i think it's *totally* innappropraite that she put/use your photos for advertising or on her website BEFORE you've even had a chance to see them! i would write a well-worded email, or better yet, CALL HER and explain why this is upsetting to you. they may be her photos to use for her business, too, but she was hired for YOUR wedding!
@hsearle: I agree! It IS inappropriate. I have written a strongly worded, but polite, email and if I don't hear back, and I mean SOON, I'll give her a call. Yeesh... I thought wedding stress ended when the wedding was over?
I would be livid too!!! Just try to stay calm so she doesnt ruin any LOL
I'm sorry about this. I do hope you hear back from her promptly and that you get your pictures ASAP!
You are SO patient and polite!! I would have stomped right down to her studio, picked up her favorite camera, and told her in the sweetest way that if I didn't get my photos on CD immediately we would run an experiment to see if cameras can fly....
My photographer did this. Had photos of us up IN HER OFFICE in frames, but you know, I hadn't received any of my photos yet. Ticked me off to no end. It took me 6 months to get mine =(
What is the timeline that was in your contract? Mine is 3 weeks for the online gallery, and 3 months for everything else. I think my contract also says the the photographer has the rights to the pictures and is allowed to use them for whatever he wants. I'd double check your contract and not get all bent out of shape if the photographer is not breaking the contract.
But I can totally see how this is annoying for you.
Can you CALL her? Some people are horrible about returning emails (i.e. our caterer) but quite plesant and helpful on the phone.
Also I could see that photogs would have a few pics done early on in the process because they're going to pull them off their camera and start editing. So it wouldn't be a big deal for them to upload a good one to a website.
That doesn't mean she's done with ALL of them. It takes a long time to process raw images and then weed thru them all and then photoshop them. She's not going to give you part of them, and is probably waiting to finish all of them first. Unless she's in breech of her contract time frame I'd say don't be pushy with her, she's also shooting and editing other weddings along with yours.

I also wrote this in the thread located here. But I thought I'd start a new thread because I don't think anyone is still reading the old one.
I was looking around the interwebs to see if any other brides were having to wait a while for photos from my photographer and I came across a website for wedding planning in Tennessee where she has a page--and guess whose photo is on the front page of her section?? That would be mine. It's a lovely photo of me and my husband, from our wedding day, that I have YET TO SEE. Why is it up on a site she uses to advertise, but she can't send any of the photos that we paid for to us?! Or at the very least, EMAIL ME BACK. Argh.
