How gorgeous. Glad you found exactly what you were looking for!
Wow, that looks amazing on you! That gown is making me second guess my dress even though I know my FI would hate it. Its just so prreeetttttttttyyyyyyy..... :)
Congrats!!!! That's so pretty!!! I love that it strikes a great balance between soft and romantic and glamorous and sexy.
@MissTatas: hahah I have no idea if FH will be able to love this dress as much as me, as he's a pretty plain clothes kinda person, but omgosh its fabulous :) FH says I will never know if he hated part of the wedding because that's part of being a good husband, haha!
Thanks everyone! I can't wait to place the order today. I would have bought it from the local girl but she told me nightmare story about how much this dress cost her to get altered (more than the dress!!) so I'm gonna go ahead and order it in petite.
Wow it looks great! What a find. I think the white is a great choice.
wow. it does look fabulous on you! But i thought you were wearing the GATSBY? If you don't mind me asking, what changed your mind?
@vintagequeen19: I've been rethinking that dress ever since I ordered it. I liked how vintage it was, but the style wasn't good on me. It was drop waist, and I'm only 5'. My new bridal consultant said she wouldn't ever have recommended the dress to me. I was lied to about how the sizing works and that the drop waist would come up in my size. I didn't really like the sheer train and I didn't think it flattered my body at all. I wanted to do a lot of things to it (add sleeves, get a sash, etc) and I started thinking if I want to change the dress this much, then it's not my dress. You pull it off great though!
That's my dress too!!! I ordered it last month, also in diamond white. The gold looked ok on me, but the diamond white looked so much better. I'm also too pale for the regular white, so I'm glad Maggie had something in between. :-)
You look so beautiful in it! May I ask what size you tried on to get the corset to look like that? I think I'm about your size or a little bigger, and I ordered a 4 (although I'm 5'7" so I did not order petite!).
Seeing these gorgeous pictures of you just reaffirmed for me that I picked the right dress. I like your idea of colored shoes and petticoats too, hmmmm... ;-)
ahhhh this is my dress too! and i rarely EVER see anyone with this dress. I'm soo sad im at work and your pictures wont upload on my computer :( i want to see it on another bride! I ordered mine about 4 months ago and it should be coming in in about a week :)
The only thing different is i got the champagne/gold dress. im not a fan of bright white dresses... ANY bright white dresses, but thats just me. i never even saw this dress in white and i fell in LOVE. I naturally have a tan glow so the champagne/gold looked so good with my skin.
@CainnaBee: The corset is a little loose in this picture, they didn't want to tie it up all the way. She said it was a size 8, which makes sense because I was told to buy a size 6. If they had tied it up all the way it would not have looked as pretty :) I'm a 34/28/34 and that is between a 4 and a 6 in Maggie. Did you order it from a bridal salon? As long as they measured you you should be fine. Thanks for telling me I look like a 4 lol! And go for color! I am gonna rock purple and blue on my wedding day for sure! Now I just have to find my accessories...
@JessicaL: I really had to scour to find this dress in diamond white, the closest store was 2 hours away and I just got lucky finding this one. I would have gone with the champagne if I didn't see this on me, I think its beautiful in every color!!
Oh my God it looks amazing! I am so in love with this dress but sadly have not been able to find anywhere to try it on in New York :(
@plantains: I know there was one for sale on craigslist in NJ and PA, have you looked there? Or CT? Unless you're way upstate the beauty of the tristate area means 3 times as many bridal shops :P
Ooh, that kinda scares me now. I have similar measurements to you (33/25/36) and was told to order a 4. Yes, it's from a bridal salon, and they measured me right there. They actually said my chest/waist measurement was closer to a 2, but that my hips needed at least a 4 (haha, I have a big butt!). Hopefully the dress won't be catastrophically small in that area!
I guess the good news is that I want them to be able to cinch the corset really tightly (so I feel super snug, almost to the point of not breathing), but to still have a lot of space showing in the back. I know it sounds weird, but I feel so cozy and safe in a crazy tight corset! Hopefully there will be enough seam allowance to let out the hips if necessary (the salon assured me it would be at least an inch on each side). I think the bodice should be fine. The dress arrives in October, so wish me luck!
I also had a really hard time finding this dress to try on, since it's so old. I e-mailed every bridal salon listed on the Maggie site within 100 miles of DC, and only found 3 that had a sample. The closest place (where I bought it) is still an hour away.
@CainnaBee: haha well I was apparently way off on my measurements! I got remeasured when I placed my order yesterday and it actually came out to 34/27/37. You think you have a big butt, lol!
On the maggie sottero size chart, a 6 is 34.5, 26.5, 37. So I fell almost exactly in that area. A 4 is 33.5, 25.5, 36, so you're almost exact as well! No worries, it will fit you perfectly :)
And I ordered a Maggie for the same reason, I love corsets, they make me feel secure and sexy!
It looks great on you and DOESN'T look old at all. I love it! I wish I could pull something like that off.
You look so stunning!!! Love that last pic of you showing off the blue shoe! I'm also wearing blue satin shoes with rhinestones. I <3 them!
i tried on about 30 dresses and I fell in love with this one the most. If for some reason I don't have a crying moment with a dress, I will most likely go with this one! I love it! It looks great on you!

This week I was able to get in touch with a local bride selling her Rhianna Royale in diamond white and she said I could try it on. I've been very very nervous about ordering it in Light Gold because really, it is very dark in person, and I am just not a Gold person. I wanted silver jewelry and I already had amazing blue shoes that I didn't want to get rid of! So I drove up today and crossed my fingers...
Ahhhhmazing! It was everything I wanted! So romantic...Now I get to have my lavender crinoline, silver jewlery and my blue shoes!
So excited!! I sent my mom the pictures and she freaked, for some reason it made her really excited to get started on the wedding and find her dress to go with it, so I think that's her equivalent of tearing up:P
The Light Gold is beautiful, but I would be missing out on so many things I wanted to do and all I ever wanted was an Ivory dress. And her wedding pictures were beautiful! I could see all the detail in every picture, so my fears about that are eased. So this will be my last dress post because I'm DONE! Yayyyyyy!!!
