Howdy bees! For those of you who responded to my post yesterday I want to thank you all for your lovely words of wisdom. All of it came very much in handy and I felt well prepared to be walking in with an arsenal of information and network of smart ladies! We had a very long and exciting day of looking at rings. It felt lovely to be able to get some of those rocks on my hand for the first time 😀
I am glad to say we are more cemented in what we want! I am leaning towards a princess cut diamond with a pave band, preferably one that is thin as I have very slender hands. I looked at some gorgeous rings and was surprised that as prophesied I did find myself liking styles that I never would have considered! For instance, I was really surprised to find myself liking a halo I tried on when I have all but hated the style on myself in theory 😛 The first store was a great experience where there was no pressure and the staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. It was great :] the others not so much in those departments. FH was very professional and we made sure to ask some good questions, take pics and notes, and make our polite excuses when turned off.
While some were fair prices there was definitely some oh my goodness overpriced monents, in which we weren’t swindled by knowing what else is available. It was SO important to go and check everything out in person. Ultimately I think we will be making a choice online…the quality of diamond for the price from (reputable) online vendors just canNOT be beat. Anyone else have experience with buying online from Diamondsonweb, James Allen, Blue Nile, or other? For a princess cut pave engagement ring? Thoughts would be appreciated if interested in sharing.
