Best of luck! You sound like you have a positive attitude, and since that is the only thing in your control right now, good for you!
I am crossing my fingers for you that is scary!
I hope everything is ok!
Thanks - my FI is being wonderful, really supportive, so that is making a huge difference. I know I have the "right man". :-)
I hope everything turns out okay...keep a positive attitude! I know having a supportive FI can make a huge difference!
I'm SO glad they have figured it out and can now treat it!!! Keep us posted... and know that you're in our thoughts and we send nothing but best wishes and hugs to you!!
I wish you the best of luck. As other bees said, keep up your positive attitude.
You'll be in my thoughts.
Wishing you the best tomorrow. Health issues can be really scary but it sounds like you've got a wonderful FI and all us bees to support you no matter what the outcome. I'll keep you in my thoughts too.
Aww, wishing you the best of luck! I've got a heart murmur and have had it since I was about 10 years old. It's scary as heck to have to go to cardiologists and do CAT scans and EKG's and ultrasounds on your heart! Everytime I meet a new Dr., they send me for testing and it's always the same, just a murmur and nothing else - it's pretty common from what they tell me, but that doesn't make it any less scary to have to go thru all those tests!
Fingers crossed - try not to stress about it! Sending love & good thoughts your way! Let us know how it goes!
I had to go through all that when I started getting chest pain in HS. After an ultrasound, stress test, and monitoring, I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse and an electrical imbalance in my heart. Basically... nothing I can do about it except to never run or do cardio... and almost everyone has some form of a mild MVP.
Just be aware that regardless of how minor the murmur is... your health insurance rates are probably going to increase a little... unfortunately.
I'll say some prayers though that's it's nothing!
Best of luck to you! Freshman year of high school (7 years go or so) I went into the ER because a bad anxiety attack. After 36 hours in the ICU, a million EKGs, and a heart ultrasound I was diagnosed with prolonged QT. Its one of those things that can be monitered but never really treated or cured so it kinda sucks :/ The best thing I learned was whenever I'm having chest pains to go into the ER. Having a heart condition puts you at the top of the priority list :)
On the plus side, having an ultrasound of my heart was one of the COOLEST things! Not many people can say they've actually seen their heart ;)
Awww, darling - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for sure! Good luck!
Hi, bees! So I had the echo yesterday. It reminded me of getting the ultrasound when I was pregnant, except it took a lot longer and it was really weird to see parts of my heart on the screen. The tech told me that I had some regurgitation in my heart, but that's all I found out - I have to wait to hear from my doc now. Plus I had lab work done yesterday, so I doubt I'll hear from my doc until all the results are in. Fingers crossed. :-)
I found out something about FI and me yesterday, too - he talks A LOT when he gets really nervous about something, where I clam up and want to be left alone. He went with me to the appointment and was quite the chatty cathy in the room before I went back, whereas I just wanted to sit and think. Poor guy, I was so nonverbal with him!
Fingers crossed and sending good vibes your way!
Your poor FI must have been so worried! Hopefully there won't be any reason to worry once you talk to your doctor!

Hi, all you supportive bees! :-) Over the weekend, I posted that an urgent care doc had told me I had a heart murmur (I had gone in for tonsillitis) that I needed to get checked out. I really was hoping it was nothing; I know a lot of people have "innocent" or benign murmurs.
So yesterday I went to my regular doc in the dept. of internal meds at a major university research hospital here in DC. She examined me, and it turns out I have a systolic ejection murmur (whatever that means), and they did an EKG - and it wasn't normal. :-( So tomorrow I'm going to be in the cardiac unit getting an ultrasound of my heart so they can figure out exactly what's going on, plus a bunch of lab work. Not exactly what I want to be worrying about only 5 weeks or so before the wedding! So please keep your fingers crossed that's it's being caused by an underlying condition such as anemia, and not something really wrong with my heart. Thanks, bees!!
