Original thread here. Yay I got a new dress! I scoured the interwebs for a used dress and shops that had strong reviews for keeping a good stock of sample and discontinued dresses. Once again, the search function here on Weddingbee totally helped me out and found me a couple of great options. I found a dress at the first one! At first, I was super nervous because of the cost and it being the first store. Fiance sat down with me and talked it out, and I realized I really didn’t want to risk buying ANOTHER dress without trying it on (i.e. from POWD or OnceWed). We went to the biggest store first, so I wasn’t as confident that the other two would have dresses I loved in my size.
It’s not lace like I originally wanted, but even at a deep discount, those dresses were way out of my budget. However, it has the neckline I want and is super flattering on my figure. I love it!! I wish I had pictures of me in it, but they didn’t allow them before purchase, and I didn’t feel like putting it back on just for a couple of snap shots. These pics are on the model. Without further ado, here’s my new baby, La Sposa’s Dia!
My dress is off-white. It’s hard to see because fo the veil in the way, but it has a zipper back with a row of buttons down to the hips. The bias cut and pleating are really flattering for my figure, and I love how the taffeta isn’t shiny. Brittany, my awesome and very knowledgeable consultant, paired the dress with a ribbon sash, and that sealed the deal for me. She really had no way of knowing, but she brought out a beautiful crystal sash made with a pewter ribbon, which is our other main color. I almost teared up. It just completed the look. She was also sweet enough not to insist that I buy it and instead said that I could find a better deal on Etsy or even make it myself. Love her!
Yay for quick fixes to big problems and happy endings! Now to get back to finishing the DIY projects.
