operaglove :  Wow. No need to be rude to the PP. The explanation of your work schedule (and the schedule itself) was pretty confusing so you don’t need to jump down their throat just because they haven’t memorized every detail of your post. I was wondering about the same thing.

operaglove :  eh I’m not shocked she asked for the note, given the fact you’d already told her you needed the time off to go to your other job.  Just get it and call it good.

As for how long to give them.. what are your options even?  You have two jobs that want you somewhere at 3pm on Thursday.  Presumably, unless your first job gives you permission to go, come Thursday you’ll have to pick one or the other.  I’m not sure what options you have beyond reminding your manager that if they don’t give permission you may have to resign.

ETA: gee, yeah I assumed it was every Thursday too, since this is all about a change in your availability.  Well, since its not a Thursdy thing, replace “Thursday” in my post with “next time there’s a schedule conflict”.

operaglove :  Whoa girl! We know you are under stress, but no need to act like it.

No where in your thread did you say this was going to be a problem only twice over a two year period. If it is going to occur as infrequently as that, why does your Boss need to make a hurried decision for a situation that will not happen again for some time?

In the interim, while you still have the first job why not just forfeit changing, going to the bathroom and taking your dog out ?

I am so confused now.  Will you consistently need to leave your job an hour early to make it to the new job?  Your post are confusing.
