About 3 months ago, I posted this looking for your help:
I need some help with this one. My fiancé and I are having a small wedding and a small bridal party. When I say a small wedding, 100 people will be there, including the wedding party. The bridal party we plan to have is also very small only three brides maids and three groomsmen. My fiancés best friend, the only person he has ever mentioned that he wants to be his best groomswoman, is a woman. This is totally fine with me, I have no issue with this at all. I do want the wedding party to look cohesive standing up there. I plan to put my bridesmaids in grey dresses and the groomsman in light grey suits with a vest and jacket. The bridesmaids were given the color that I wanted from David’s Bridal and can pick any dress that they want. The men are all going to get their suits from the same tailor. The color scheme we are going with is Grey and yellow, it is an outdoor garden wedding. The bridesmaids will have yellow bouquets and yellow boutonnières for the groomsmen, and a yellow corsage for the best groomswamn. What do with his best groomswoman? Do I give her the same color for David’s bridal and have her pick her dress like the bridesmaids? Do I put her in a pants suit, I don’t want to de-faminize her? HELP!!!!! I don’t know what to do.
Well I am back with an update, in case you were curious as to what happened.
I spoke with his Best Groomswoamn, and I hvae her a swatch from the groomsmens suits. Davids Bridal does not carry the color of the mens suits, so I was strugglign with what to do, becasue i wanted her to match the groomsmend. Anyway, i gave her the swatch and explaiend what kind of a dress that i would like her in, if she picks and dress. SHe stated that she would be more comfortable in a dress, but that she is not sure that she will feel comfotable in the dress type that i wanted. i wnated a short to the knees dress, since it is goign to be ab outside garden wedding, and that is what the bridesmaids are wearing. I did some thinkning, and some talkign with my fiance, and we decided that if she wanted to wear a longer dress, or whatever she felt comfortable in, as long as we can see if before she purchases it, that it woudl be fine. In all honesty, she might blend in better with groomsmen in a longer dress.
But we have finally headed on the right path to having the Best Groomswoman wear. It was largly in part to all of your helpful suggestions and comments!!! Thank you all so much!!
