I'm glad to hear that the cakes were yummy! But sorry they did that, she's really lucky she didn't show up at 6 or later...that would have been bad!!
That is a really icky situation. First I would be pissed the cake was 3.5 hours late, and then to know they went back on their word and that was the reason why!

Some of you have asked about what we did with our cake issues. I ended up staying with our Bakery because I just felt it was to late to change. See this post for the full story.

The bakery the week of our wedding confirmed that they would be delivering the second bride's cakes on Friday and mine on Saturday. Which in all fairness is what should have happened to begin with since I booked first. They told me they would deliver around 1pm on Saturday. Around 2:30 the cakes still hadn't shown. I had my aunt call for me. They had left around 1pm to drive there. It is a 5 hour drive. Wedding started at 6pm. So sure enough at 5:30 she comes walking in the door with the cakes. I was pissed because she tells me that she was running late because she delivered the other cakes that morning not on Friday as disscussed. So needless to say, my family will not be reccommending her to anyone any more. The cakes were awesome just like I knew they would be. But I'm not going to have a friend go through the headache we've experienced.
