Ok hive it’s been a while since I posted, 3 months and a LOT has changed. After reading many posts about dress regret, I decided to wait longer to purchase my dress.
My previous post (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/too-expensive-dream-dress-need-some-advice) left off sounding like I was going to purchase the expensive dress. After another trip shopping I was able to try it on again and lo and behold, I didn’t get that ‘wow’ feeling. The dress is exquisite but it was also ornate which was something I couldn’t get past. From the beginning of planning I had my eye on another dress that I was unable to locate at the time. Fast forward to a few days ago, I finally found a shop which carried the sample of my original ‘dream dress’. It is absolutely stunning, and I placed my order for it yesterday.
So my lesson learned was to wait it out- explore all your options. Especially when it comes to your initial gut reaction. It was a wonderful feeling to be so confident about this purchase. There is nothing that can compare to my wedding gown and I am so glad that I decided to find something that truly represented my personality.
Please let this be a lesson learned for all of us- I could have easily been another ‘dress regret’ bride. Thank you to the hive for the advice, so excited to move on and keep planning =)
