A while ago I posted: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/denied-being-a-parishioner-so-discouraged
I was so discouraged, and recieved a bad taste in my mouth regarding the Catholic church, and church ladies. But I’m glad it didn’t stop me! Me and my fiance visited a few churches, and we found a church that doesn’t require you to be a parishoner, and openly states that in the website. It’s expensive, but since some of his family are parishoners there, they said they could try to help us a little.
And the church ladies??? SUPER NICE!!!!!!! We found in our search, that only about 20% of church ladies are mean. 🙂
Also, I started RCIA at a church where I live, and I love it!!! I never knew that I would fall in love with the Roman Catholic teachings, and the Holy Spirit is really guiding me! I’ve even been inspiring some Catholic friends to get back in touch with the church. So it really has been a great journey so far!!
Moral of the story… if you meet a church that is not so nice, don’t let that discourage you. It just means that there is a better church for you, and 80% of churches have nice church ladies to work with. If you come across a crunchy church lady, hang up the phone and try somewhere else!
