I think they are both beautiful, it’s just a matter of which style you prefer! If that is the art deco, I’d probably go with that. But either would be a lovely set.

Both are gorgeous, but if you cant wear your moms at work, then I’d go with your aunts. I would hate if I could only wear my ring on my days off.

I’d pick moms e-ring and great aunt’s w-band and just wear the w-band to work

I do love both of your choices, but if it were me, I would chose your mom’s.

I adore the art deco set it is gorgeous and unique, plus
I dont like the overly ornate wedding band with the simple diamond on your mums set. But thats just me, pick what makes you happy!

I’d take your Mom’s e-ring and the aunt’s wedding band.

Both are beautiful, but my heart was set on the first one, even before I had seen the 2nd option.

I personally prefer your mum’s ring, but I voted for his family ring because i) you can wear it to work and ii) it’s more your style.

I would wear your mom’s ring, not only do I like it better but it’s your mom’s! I think the sentiment behind that alone would make the decision for me.

Why not take all of the diamonds and make a set you love with all of the stones.  It would be one hell of a set!  Then you can decide on style and have All the diamonds for the sentiment, in that way its your ring, not theirs!

Oh and many girls are getting an anniversary ring for the other side of your engagement ring so you could make that ring with the stones you have.  If you sell the gold that can defray the cost.

if you dont do that than i would go with the set you love and leave sentiment out of it.  After a while when you have to live with your choice it will be the look of the ring that means the most not who owned it before you.

@MadameX:  I love @Star66:‘s idea. If it was me I would take both rings and make a ring I loved out of both but I would use the gold also. Have it customized…come up with a design you love melt the gold down and use that as the metal and the diamonds and stones that way it has everything you want…that is if that’s an option. Talk and see if that’s an option everyone can agree to and it can have more meaning “two families joined as one even before the marriage” having a sentiment from his and your side and would be 100% unique and you.

I agree with the previous posters ideas on combining stones to create a new wedding ring set in the Art Deco style you love. Maybe use the stones in your mom’s rings in a new e-ring and the stones in FI’s great aunt’s set in a wedding band?
