I currently have a 1 carat round diamond in a six claw setting. How would I go about switching to a bigger stone? (around 1.3 to 1.5 carat)
Is there anyway I could trade in my diamond and just pay the difference? I’m in the uk if that helps. Do any UK bees know of somewhere I could get in contact with?

It depends on the vendor you bought it from. Do they have an upgrade policy? If not, you might get a trade in deal from someone but it will almost definitely be a rip off.

@Princesslaylaxo: Pretty much any jeweler would put a new stone onto your setting. Diamonds don’t have a great trade-in value as far as I know, unless it’s the jeweler you bought it from and they have a good trade-in policy. You would be better off holding onto it for an heirloom or setting it in a new piece of jewelry for yourself (necklace, RHR, etc).
You can get a loose diamond online or in jewelry stores, but sorry, I don’t have a more specific recommendation than that.

you’d probably be a lot better off selling the loose stone on its own then using the $ from that towards the purchase of a larger stone, I doubt any “trade-in” deal would give you as much $ towards the new stone.
