Are you talking about full room wash uplighting? I am going with 26 individual lights, 6 provided by my venue and 20 rented through an uplighting company. The amount you need really depends on how large a room you’re having and what type of uplights you’re using. The ones my company are using cover about a 10 foot section per light. This will be enough for the room to be completely washed in color. Try to find a company that has done uplighting for your venue and see what they suggest.

ETA: The ones provided by my venue are LED lights and will cover about 20 feet. We will be using some of these in the cocktail area and the entrance. Just to give you an idea in difference of sizes.

We are adding them from the Dj, we are doing 12 cans, 3 per wall and it’s costing us $400

We have a chart on our website that recommends how many uplights to use.  It depends on the size of your room and the overall look that you want to achieve.  Scroll to the bottom of this page:  www.RentMyWedding.com/Rent-Uplighting
