We’re having a formal tent wedding with heavy draping and lots of flowers. I’m going a bit for the over the top look. Decorators suggested amber uplighting but I seem to like how purple looks in pictures. Did anybody have one of the other and have feedback?
I like amber, I just worry that it’s not “enough” color. Wedding colors are ivory/blush/gold.

I love purple uplighting–And I think it puts people in a dancing mood, since it’s such a fun color!

I like the amber setting, i think it will look better with your wedding colors

@havfrue: I was planning on purple myself but my caterer/DOC said today that purple actually tends to make people look funny/it does weird things to the skin tone and that we should use champagne instead.

I think amber might be most flattering for photos. Do you have any option to have it change as the night goes on? Maybe amber for dining, then later pink and purple for partying?

@drlolaz: Oooh! I love that idea the best. Also, I’m guessing champagne = amber.

I think purple looks nice, but is super trendy and will look silly in pictures in 25 years. Amber is much more classic.
