For those of you who used uplighting or are using it at your reception…is it worth it to have an on-site professional from the lighting company?
My venue offers LED light at $50/light and suggest we use 16 of them. They roll the cost of the lights into the dinner price so the taxes end up being 28% which is ridiculous. If I proceed with them, I plan to discuss this as I think it’s nuts.
I ask because the quotes I am getting are $1200-$1500 and not all of then include an on-hand lighting professional. One e-mail said that the value of having someone on-hand would be to change the colors of the lights as the night goes on, which isn’t important to me.
What do you think? Also, if anyone in Mass/NH area used a really great and inexpensive lighting person, please feel free to share!
