I just LOVE the look of wedding receptions with uplighting… except I’ve only really seen them in pink and aqua blue. my wedding colors are navy and ivory… has anyone seen something that wont look too goofy with those colors? any advice for having it at your wedding?

I think amber lighting would be nice with that color scheme. It would add ambiance while complementing the color scheme. You could also just do a warm “normal” color light, too – would add drama without adding color. I think a deeper blue would also look lovely. Have you talked to a lighting vendor at all about what the color options might be? The goal with the lighting is to add color and depth, not to be matchy-matchy!
Imagine this with navy table cloths/accents:
Or something like this where everything is cream/ivory and the blue lighting adds the color drama:

@lizzypoo96: I second the amber opinion I think that would look lovely! Sometimes they will change the lights for you so you could always have them change to navy to signal the dance time for a darker more party look

It depends on what type of “look” you want for the reception. For a romantic, soft look, we would recommend ivory uplighting. If you would like a more dramatic look, go with blue uplighting.
You can either hire a lighting company or do it yourself. Here’s a video showing easy do-it-yourself uplighting setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2DO1K5Sl4w
