I am also obsessed with my moissy! It’s a round cut center stone in a kite halo setting. The halo and band are diamonds but the center center stone is a FB moissy. Loooove it.

ilspflz123 :  can you tell much difference between the moissy and the diamonds around it? I tried this wedding band on yesterday – diamonds – with my moissy and couldn’t tell them apart!

I am so in love.  I knew I wanted a moissy so I went to the Charles & Colvard site and found the name of a shop that gets thier stones.  My SO and I live outside of Boston and so we were blessed to be able to go to Homsy Jewlers in the Jewlery buliding in Downtown Crossing in Boston.  They hand-made this ring from the 100’s of settings to choose from, showed me examples of both the Forever One and Forever Brilliant.  I was so pleased with their patience and care that went into making both my engagement ring and wedding band in ALL moissanite stone.  Donna and Fudi are the heros of our ring story (the horrible beginning with Zales is too much to get into).

The ring is a 8mm center stone in rose gold.  Center stone is a Forever One and the side stones are Forever Brilliant.

Here are pictures of my ring. It turned out much more grand than I was expecting. We picked out three settings we liked together and then my fiancé made the final selection and had the center moissanite set. When we looked at the settings there were no center stones in them so it was hard to picture what the final product would look like. Considering the band was very understated and simple I had no idea I would end up with the rock that I did! The moissanite we originally looked at was equivalent to a diamond of size .8 carats. My fiancé had it set with that size and said it didn’t look right. He ended up selecting a moissanite equivalent to a 1.5 carat diamond. I love the ring. It sparkles like crazy. I love the little details in the setting. The pictures can’t possibly do it justice. And I love all the trouble he went to to make sure I have a spectacular ring. I am sometimes a little self conscious of the size, not because I don’t like the ring but because of what society might think of me. I’m not a snobby person and I hope my ring doesn’t make people think that about me since it would be very easy for someone to mistake this for a real diamond. It looks very much like a diamond. I think the only thing that would distinguish it to a normal person comparing a diamond to a moissanite is the “fire”. Other than that most people will not be able to distinguish between this and a real diamond. Anyways, allow me to add to the pile of moissanite pictures. 🙂

1.5 Forever One center moissanite. .14 carat pave-set diamonds on band.

Puppy photo bomb 🙂

I just realized that my last post may have implied that i think if you have a big ring you’re a snob. That’s not what I think at all. However, people in the small area I came from tend to think that. That’s why I said I hope people don’t think I’m a snob due to the size of my ring.

nina281 :  We purchased it from moissanite.com.  It’s the Clarette ring on their site.  We trusted their site more than Mossianiteco.com because of Moissanite.com’s direct ties to Charles and Colvard. Good Luck! I still love mine!
