I am thinking about Key Largo/Islamorada area... wondering if anyone is also planning for these areas or has had their wedding there.  Definitely worried about resorts for the venue, since I'm not sure I will get down there to check them out.  Any recommendations would be appreciated :)

Did you find your venue yet?  I am looking in the Islamorada area as well.  So far, We like the Islander Resort and Coconut Cove.  Let me know if you found anything else that might be worth looking at.

I got married at Coconut Cove. You can read all about it here:

And I'd be happy to answer any questions about it.

If money isn't an issue, The Cheeca Lodge and Pierres Restaurant are both beautiful, though pricey.

I'm going to be a lower keys bride and just have to say that in the upper keys, my sis and brother in law spent a gorgeous week at Haws Cay resort there and loved it!

    That's a wonderful spot!

Unfortunately, money is an issue.  My FI and I are paying for everything ourselves.  We liked the Coconut Cove Resort b/c it seems the most reasonable and looks nice.  We still have to get down there to check it out.  Were you happy with their services?  Were they willing to work with you and your requests?  Most reviews I read were good!

Yes, the hotel rooms at coconut cove are older and nothing special, but they were VERY easy to work with, made sure everything went smoothly, fulfilled every request, had great food and cake, etc. I had so many people tell me it was the very best wedding the had ever been to. They do weddings almost every weekend and are very well versed in making sure everything goes as you want it to. If you are very specific about what you do and do not want on your wedding day - they will make sure that is exactly what you get. I can't recommend them enough.
