id be in touch with both the sender and/or ups.  either its their fault for sending the parcel withouth specific instructions (like a required signature or something), or its UPS’s fault for not reading instructions.

that’s annoying but if there were no delivery instructions it’s not really their fault. They don’t know what is in there. Usually when I know something like that is coming, I am constatnly stalking the online tracker and/or my door.

The seller should have included ice packs or something if they knew it was going to be in a warm climate. Unless there were specific instructions it’s not really UPS’s fault really. :/

Contact UPS first, and then contact your seller.  UPS should have rang the bell, but the seller should have labeled the box as perishable or included special instructions.  I think most sellers would be understanding and send out a new package.  USPS lost an order of paper I had ordered the other week, and the seller sent out another order right away.  It’s not the seller’s fault that it wasn’t delivered correctly, but they were still very understanding about it.

VERY rarely does any delivery service actually attempt delivery at our apartment complex. Fedex usually does, but UPS is hit or miss, and USPS NEVER even tries. FI is usually home during the day and I always find a sticker on the door or something in our mail box. Usually, UPS just brings a sticker upstairs and puts it on the door without bothering to knock. I’ve watched the USPS lady deliver the mail, go down to check, and, oh, she’s left us a “sorry we missed you” note, even though I’ve been here THE WHOLE TIME.

@everyheart:  Seriously. They have to come up to the third floor (about 2.5 stories, since the first floor is a garden level), why not just knock? At least I get home before our leasing office closes so that I can pick stuff up.

I’m sorry about your chocolates. That’s quite disappointing.

I hate USPS, UPS, and FedEx — all of them. In my case, they ring the bell and run away.

If there is no signature required, they don’t care if anyone is home or not. They will let your parcel get melted by the sun or soaked by the rain, and it could be even stolen.

USPS’s attitude is pretty much *We’re the government. We don’t have to do X, Y, and Z*

Ugh!  I have had so many bad experiences with shipping.  At my last place and this place, I have literally waited home all day when I need something and they just slap a note on the door at the entrance.  They are apartment buildings- so what more can I do?  There is no way for me to know they come unless they buzz.  That is FedEx.  At this place they just drop the package outside sometimes without buzzing :/

My UPS is actually great here- they have a key and drop it at my door- so at least I have more of a chance of getting it!  I have had things stolen from USPS and from UPS in the past.  It sucks!  My USPS guy is pretty good- he buzzes me and lets me know I can come get my package while he stuffs the mail.

@Bunny_the_Bride:  UPS left my brand new tablet balancing on the banister of front stairs. It was in a tablet computer shaped box that said “Acer Iconia” on it and had a drawing of the tablet! It was there for hours. Luckily none of my neighbors stole it. That ticked me off.
