I’ve personally never had this happen to me, but I would contact the company you ordered his gift from to see if they have any recourse. They may be able to ship you a replacement product in the meantime and if UPS finds the original one later on, then that one can be returned back to the company.

@Pinksapphire:  Its happened to my customers, usually the item is found hidden like in the bushes or somewhere around the house. Or at a side door, even the garage. Or a family member brought it in & forgot to say something. Its extremely rare that I ever had to file a claim. Also, its possible UPS gave it to the wrong house, that’s why its good you contacted UPS ASAP, the sooner the better. The driver usually will remember if they went to a specific house or not. & yea it can take a few days for them to figure things out, contact the driver of that route, etc. Was your item insured?

Sometimes UPS doesn’t even knock. I’ve been at home waiting all day for something, open the door & its right in front of me. So maybe they didn’t knock, or if they did, it was just once & she was in the back room or something & didn’t hear him.

@canthugallcats:  Exactly, I’ve been home several times and UPS and Fedex only knocks when they need a signature, otherwise they just leave the package on the porch.

@Pinksapphire:  Ah, this is a good sign, in a way, so you know he didn’t come. I guess I’d rather think that UPS screwed up than that your neighbors are stealing your packages, right?

My UPS guy is so quiet, he’s like a ninja and I literally won’t know he’s come and gone until I see the package is there.

@Pinksapphire:  Well if she’s friends with her neighbors it wouldn’t hurt to ask around. You could also call the company & verify the address they shipped it to (sometimes a number can get switched when typing it up, or a letter gets mixed up). I’m sorry, I don’t think you should count it as a loss just yet though, they will make it right & figure out what happened.

We have different drivers sometimes, some trucks are LOUD & others you can’t hear at all (& I don’t have insulation – sadly). Sometimes they’re so quiet my dog doesn’t even get up & she loves UPS! haha
