So I have been talking to La Petite Pastry Shoppe for a little bit now, went and had a cake tasting with my sister, and talked about designs. Well after a few emails and showing them what design I want and everything they all of a sudden say that cant do it. In their profile for their work they have a cake slightly simliar to what I would like for the design. Well now I have to look for a new baker and send my sister to tastings because I will not be back up in Florida until 2 weeks before my wedding(not enough time to have tastings/order a cake).
To my Michigan bees, any bakeries that are good in/near Clinton Township?

@rmrsln2010: Ok, so this is not specifically near Clinton Township, but Treats by Angelique are amazing. I don’t know her personally (so I’m actually have no interest in this) but saw her speak at an entrepreneurial event and was super impressed by her dedication and fortitude. Also, her treats are delicious. Try looking for her on facebook. I know she’s participating in an entreprenruial competition to get the money to open brick and mortar, but definitely might be worthwhile!
Otherwise, I’ve also heard great things about Joy’s Kitchen Magic on Michigan Ave in Dearborn. I had a really talented friend that worked there. But I can’t say how their pricing goes, because I actually made/decorated my own cake.
ETA: I know it’s annoying they backed out, but at least they admitted they couldn’t really do it and didn’t say they could and give you a cakewreck!

There is a place in Monroe (siuth of cliton township) called Cakes by Sstephine and their cakes are just to die for. Prices are fair and they do a good job decorating.

@tynakinnon: It might help to post this in the appropriate Michigan Board so you get more locals reading your post.
