@amvanzo: I love the concept and what a cool picture you linked to.

My thoughts in the area are:

The Cobblestone House at Mendon Ponds Park.  The house itself is too small to host a reception but can serve as a changing and staging area. I’m a little fuzzy on the parking situation there, but I’m sure a quick drive out or call can get that info for you. The bulk of your activities would be in a tent.

Genesee Country Village Museum – they host a lot of weddings and I think of them more in the context of barn/rustic themes, but they may have a site with a tree/forested look that would work for you.

Other thoughts outside the immediate area (each a little further from ROC):

The Glen Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park. If you’ve been to the park, you know that it’s a really fantastic outdoors setting with a lot of natural beauty. The plus is lodging incorporated right there. They cap the attendance at 120 in one tent, but I believe you can do two tents if needed.

The State Park in Watkins Glen is also pretty nice with wooded areas and the gorge.

Taughannock Falls State Park in Ithaca.  Also a nice setting.

If you do an image search on Google, you can see a number of pictures of weddings in each of those settings.

Good luck with your planning!

How far outside if rochester are you willing to travel? I have fantastic recommendations in the Syracuse area.

Im not sure how reasonable it is, or the logistics of it, but I always thought Stony Brook park would  be a beautiful, magical place to get married!

amvanzo:  It sounds like it would be perfect for you, it’s a beautiful mix of forest and outdoor space but has plenty of bathrooms, parking, etc.
