Here's the link to some suggestions from a previous post.

Do you have an idea of what you budget may be yet? What seems crazy expensive to one person may be reasonable to another.
Mohonk Mountain House is also gorgeous. www.mohonk.com
I would also check out some B&B's in the Hudson Valley they may be less expensive than traditional wedding venues.
My neighbor is a TA and suggested to me Lake George in, I believe, Upstate NY. She said it is absolutely georgeous. Here is a link: http://www.lakegeorgeweddings.com/
Good Luck!
Lake George is just north of Albany, it would probably be more like 4 hours from NYC. But its really pretty there too. I know a couple thats getting married on one of the old steamboats that tours the lake! That'll be sweet.
Check out Boscobel- I'm not sure about the cost, but the view is breathtaking and it is all gorgeous gardens:
wow- that is beautfiul!!!
only problem is the $5K pricetag that comes along....stunning, though. :)
opus 40
it's near saugerties, my friend got married there. It was very cool.
The Links At Unionvale is also a gorgeous golf club in Dutchess County. They seem to be having a few wedding specials...

Hello! I am an upstate bride too! I was looking at: http://www.audreysfarmhouse.com/
but think finally I'll go with: http://www.mountgulian.org/
Both of the above have views of the Hudson River and are like 1.5-2 hrs. from NYC.
Other places that I've considered (you can google any of them):
-Bykenhulle House
-Benmarl Winery

If I think of anymore I'll let you know. Feel free to PM me!
I am getting married at Audrey's Farmhouse and it is pretty easy on the pockets and friends can stay across the street in a neat log cabin rental that is affordable if a bunch of people rent the house.
Feel free to PM me for details.

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to see if any of you have any thoughts- we're looking for a venue in upstate NY (maybe 1-2 hrs away from NYC) for our wedding. Ideally somewhere on the water, or in a garden setting....
100 guests, not too crazy on the $$. any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks! :)
