I’ve gotten both,  plus linen for my programs and I’ve liked them all.  I used glossy for my STDs and was happy.  I don’t think printing on the matte would result in muted colors.  I haven’t had that problem.  I think it’s up to your personal preference. The glossy is (kind of) like club flyers,  I guess, but I think it’s the design that will make or break whether they seem cheap or not.   I personally like the quality of each of them.  The only one I didn’t try was the recycled paper.

I thought linen was nice. I think it’s better suited for invitations and programs,  though. I haven’t compared vistaprint with any fancy (expensive)  invitation companies so it’s possible they may not be as nice in a side by side comparison.

I’m not sure about the others, but I wouldn’t go with glossy

I got the sample pack in the mail, and I preferred the matte finishes to the glossy. Here is a photo of our invites (linen) and RSVPs (matte). They both have pretty bright colors, I think! Both have a plain beige back (RSVP has our return address on it, too). HTH!

@bapbap:  Thanks! The basic template came from GraphicRiver.net, but we made a few modifications.
