oooooh! you should do it, osaka, it would be totally worth the experience! would you stay with his family there? i could see how money could be an issue though, japan is very expensive :P
I visited Japan and LOVED it!! HAve you been there yet? Maybe you should visit and see how you like it.
@sewing - well actuallu we have been graciously offered a apartment rent free for 6 months to a year just however long we need to get on our feet :)
@prncessdiva- yes, I have been there twice! I love it too, and thats where all my in laws live but its still scary!!! haha
Well, I say do it. Maybe you can say for like a year and see how you feel after that year is up!

As long as my husband wouldnt have to give up his green card, its a total go I think.
Osaka, you might want to check in on the green card, they are pretty strict about leaving and working elsewhere. My ex was a Japanese native with a greencard and it was always his concern when thinking about moving.
As for moving, do it! I lived there for a while and I absolutely loved it and would like to live there again one day, except this time, with my husband. :)

So as you can see from the thread title. Most likely my husband and I will be moving to Japan at the end of next year.
He is a Japanese native and just came to the states about 5 years ago. I had always had a dream to move to Japan, go to college for a year or so there and just EXPERIENCE it! But when I met my current husband I kind of put that on the back burner because I just wanted to be with him.
Its been hard because I still have the want to live in Japan. But my husband loves America and wants to stay here. but he said if it would make me happy , we could move to Japan for a year or two.
Now that we are planning a possible move in 2011, im SCARED! I would have to quit my job sell our things/put the rest in storage and simply just PICK UP AND LEAVE.
Its so scary to start over, and Im starting to feel the pressure. I worry about money most of all.
I am so scared yet so excited at the same time. has anyone ever made abig move to a different country??
