I’m wearing my great-great grandmother’s gold band. I’m usually a silver/platnium person, but my grandmother gave this to me, and it really means a lot to her (and me!). My engagement ring isn’t a traditional shape, so it wouldn’t have nested well with a custom band anyway. I’ll be wearing one ring on the right ring finger and the other on the left ring finger.

I love that my ring has a story and is significant to my family!

I rather that, than a ring of his mom from a marriage that didnt work out (creepy bad vibes).. the grandma stay by him and love him it has a good vibe. i think its a sweet thing to ofter but if you dont feel right dont feel like you have to take it. people will be understanding that you want to have your own ring

I don’t think that is creepy at all – I think its a beautiful idea, and I would totally do it if I had the option. As @jjwedding said, don’t do it if you aren’t sure about it or comfortable with it, but for me, it would be an awesome tribute to my grandparents marriage.

I’m wearing my Great Grandmas wedding band. My mom inherited her e-ring from 1935, it was custom made, and I inherited her wedding band that looks more like an anniversary band. My e-ring kind of looks like her e-ring (I LOVE her e-ring). It has a lot of sentimental value for me, since they were married for a pretty long time before my Great- Grandpa passed away in the 80s. She lived for another 203 years after him and never dated anyone else.

yes yes yes. what a beautiful nod to a past love that lasted.  my center stone is my grandmothers engagement stone, and when i think of the love they shared it makes me so happy!

i would do it,  but none of my grandparent stayed in their original marriage, or have even passed away(lucky!!), so i’ve been trying to hunt down my fi’s grandparents rings, a little good luck never hurt anyone

That is such a great memory and idea. My family are immigrants to this country, so my grandparents don’t have wedding bands. I think that this will be lovely for the future.

I’m doing this with FH’s great-grandmother’s wedding band! It’s a simple, yellow-gold band but I love it and I love the history and sentimentality behind it…I think you should go for it!
