I’m in love with some out-of-price-range dresses. Is it worth spending the money for a brand new dress? I’m planning for a very small, low key, low budget wedding. My dream gowns are over $2000. Does anyone have good experience with buying gently used designer dresses online??

I bought my dress from criagslist. Though my was brand new with tags i still got a great deal on it and in my area there are plenty of wedding gowns posted. Don’t know if that helped or not.

YES preownedweddingdresses.com has some amazing deals. I got a $2300 Enzoani dress for $400! It wasn’t used, it was acutally sold to me by a bridal shop where a girl had cancelled her order and they wanted to get rid of it! I would definately recommend that site!

@AirForceWife78: I’ve also heard great things about that site. OP, another option is going to a sample sale. I’ve tried on a gorgeous Rivini gown, Kenneth Pool, and Oscar de la Renta…all dresses retailed for over 6k and at the sample sale they were b/t 1-2k.

I sold my dress and it was in perfect condition after I cleaned it. It was a $2500 J. Crew gown that I sold for $1000. Steal of a deal, if you ask me! So, from a sellers perspective, yes – you can definitely get a great deal buying used :-). Just get a ton of detailed pictures of hemlines and stuff to make sure there’s no dirt or stains. I’d only buy dresses that have already been cleaned, just in case there are stains that won’t come out – you’ll already know!
