Do you have any local bridal consignment shops? We have a major one in Chicago that carries many different designers and they do have a website as well. I ended up getting my dress off OnceWed/WB but it was nice to have that extra resource.

I feel really compelled to tell you about EncoreBridal.com (a high-end consignment e-Boutique), but I really like White Chicago as well!

If you do purchase a gown from a listing site vs an actual online store (which inherently gives you added protection and has customer service policy) — use escrow.com to pay, insist on a good return policy, and make sure the seller has triple checked their gown for any imperfections.

i used Scarlett’s Closet to buy my first dress.  the lady is absolutely great, and all the dresses are designer samples.  every dress is photographed extensively so no surprises, and most have tags on them.  you can make her an offer (as i did) and she might accept it!  really a great site.

I bought a dress last week from http://www.yourdreamdress.com.  It was an amazing deal on an Anne Barge.  Perfect condition, great customer service.  She has tons of positive eBay reviews.  There are also some stores in Atlanta that do internet sales: http://www.bridalsense.com (haven’t dealt with them personally but I’ve heard good things), http://www.ledressboutique.com (don’t know anything about them, but they have great stuff on the website) and http://www.gownsource.com, which is the Bridals by Lori outlet.  This is a well-known store that is going to be featured on a new TLC show.  Good luck–there are some great deals out there if you hunt around enough!

http://www.shopgoodwill.com

They have vintage as well as New with tags. They also have other wedding items. Just check back often.  This is a bidding site with items from different states.  You can check to see how much shipping would be to you before even bidding.  You do have to register for username and password..it is free to register.

I have not purchased wedding things but I have purchased horse items and have been pleased!
