No...the ushers don't process. The usually are at the back of the church until all of the guests are seated. At that point they take a seat before the bridal party comes in. After the ceremony is over, they direct the guests out row by row usually starting from the front of the church/venue. Now I have seen them take pictures with the wedding party at a few weddings I have attended/been a participant in. But I have never seen them as a part of the processional.
There are two types:
1)Ushers that light the ceremony candles, walk in parents, and roll out the aisle runner.
2)Ushers that seat guests.
Either way, they aren't really a part of the Wedding Party.
Our ushers ARE a part of our wedding party. We are basically having an "uneven" party. I have 5 girls & FI has 7 guys. My 2 brothers (part of the 7) will act as ushers; but they will walk in my mom & then be the first to stand up front where the rest of the GroomsMen will join them. It was important to me not to make anyone feel out of place. & if we asked them to be ushers but then not be up front I feel like they'd think they weren't as important as the other GM. JMO

So, I won't bore you with the details, but it's 4 days before my wedding and suddenly my family is making a huge stink about the processional order. Do ushers usually walk down the aisle as part of the processional? This usher is not also a groomsman. If he doesn't process, what does he do?
