My mom keeps asking me who our ushers will be…umm, not a freaking clue, hadn’t thought about it. At all. Didn’t know I needed them…
So, what do Ushers do, and is there an age limit? I always thought it was just a posting for people the brides wanted involved, but had nothing really to do…I don’t recall ushers doing much in past weddings I have attended. So, can someone fill me in on just what an usher is, and what they do, and how many you have? What type of tasks get assigned to an usher?
Thanks, I’ve discovered I am clueless on this one!

They escort people to their seats if people wish. Mine will be handing out programs, and since our wedding is outside they will also be moving the chairs from the ceremony to the reception.

They escort people to their seats. However, my Mother-In-Law used the word ‘usher’ synonymous for ‘groomsman’. Maybe that’s a generational thing?

They help direct people to their seats and ensure that rows get filled in, side are even, etc.

Normally they escort people to their seats. I will be having my 14 year old brother do that for us…
