I am walking down the aisle to Somewhere over the Rainbow on Acoustic guitar!
I love that song by the fray - so beautiful - I love your choice! I would bawl my eyes out if I was watching you walk down the aisle to that song... happy loving tears!!!!!
I want to walk to a non-traditional song too! We are having a brass band, and I want them to play a Beatles song. I'm just not sure which one. I originally wanted "You're my best friend," but I don't think they will play it because it is a Queen song. ("But that's our song!") Or, I wanted a Neil Diamond song, I think it would be fun and lighten the mood.
I've got a 3 way tie going on between the following three songs:
Kissing by Bliss (from the SATC movie)
I'm kissing You by Desree (Romeo and Juliet)
or By Your Side by Sade
For the recessional I picked "Can't take my Eyes off of You by Lauryn Hill
im using this one...

Im very excited about it. i was also thinking kissing you by deseree, but this one is just so much more me :)
I was thinking about doing Long Trip Alone by Dierks Bentley, but I was told by my Man of Honor that it was too country for his tastes and well, I know it doesn't fit my FI and I's relationship, so to humour everyone I'm now thinking about doing Final Countdown by Europe instead as it's one my FI and his friends really like and sing to when it is on the radio, etc. Who knows though.
The top contenders are "you're my best friend" by queen, "home" edward sharpe and the magnetic Zeros or "I wanna hold your hand" by the beatles.
at the moment i think home will be the walking down the aisle song.
@kristi... that's a really cool one! I just watched that whole video and got a little teary eyed at the end where he's talking about his daughter. :)
My song is going to be "Marry Me" by Train, played by our acoustic guitarist... I am SO in love with this song, it just perfectly captures the sweet/simple feeling I wanted my walking-down-the-aisle song to have.
I'm walking to So You Are to Me by Eastmountainsouth. I'm going to have to edit it b/c it's 2min long but I just thought it was so beautiful.
I have two I cant get over:::
Vitamin Sting Quartet The Sound of Settling
#4
andd
Have I told You lately on the guitar and violin-- which makes me cry everytime! so weird but really tugs at my heartstrings

I LOVE The Vitamin String Quartet... I am walking to Iris By them ... and will use another but im stumped for my girls to walk to we are actually using alot of their songs in our wedding
This is one thing I've known since I was like a pre-teen, haha. When I finally DO get married, whenever that may be, I know that I won't want the traditional song...I absolutely love piano solos, so it will be something piano. Either something Chopin (LOVE love love Chopin!) or one of these. Yes, they are from video games, but the music is so lovely when it's piano...

I love the first one and the last the best.
I'm walking down the aisle to Vitamin String Quartet's version of Use Somebody. Its a gorgeous version of the song and we LOVE Kings of Leon!
I am going to use some of VSQ's stuff for prelude and resesional music, love their stuff. I am walking to "The Way I Am" Ingrid Michalson
We're using the beginning instrumental of Red's Pieces. It's an amazing piece and the first time he played it for me I told him that was the song I'd walk down the aisle to him with.
I'm still working out my music selections. @Stormala: I love the "Have I Told You Lately" choice. A couple of my favorites are: "Hallelujah" and "Love You Till the End". Are you all planning to use live quartets, MP3s, or CDs?
hmaxwell77 i have a live string duo-- totally random bc i actually went out looking for a quartet and pianist. The one I am using is the one i linked. I just fell in love with how simple the sound was and how sweet it was... there's something about the way a live violin "sings"..
Miss designer --I love the idea of an instrumental version of Ingrid Michalson's "the way I am"! soo adorable-- i was trying to figure out a way to incorporate it into our day
I am walking down the aisle to Ingrid Michaelson's version of "Can't help Falling in Love with you". My BMs will be walking in to "Ave Maria" performed on the ukelele
@summerhill... I listened to Marry Me by Train and fell in love with it!!! Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitley be walking down the aisle to that one. :)
I'm walking down to an instrumental version of "Heartbeats" from Jose Gonzalez on acoustic guitar. It's definitely a different song choice but I love it.
I love the original "Heartbeats" by the Knife, I'm going to have a remix play for a dance song! Great choice!
I really wanted Spiritulized "Ladies and Gentlemen..." but I played it for my mom and brother, they both thught it was the worst song they ever heard!!! i think its beautiful....so I'm back to the drawing board with all my ceremony music
I'm walking down to a piano version of Coldplay's "Fix You". I love it!! :]
I heard relient k's "getting into you" the other day and am leaning towards using that unless i find something else before October :)
Some excellent choices. One of our favorite recessional songs is "We Are Man And Wife - Michelle Featherstone" It is also a favorite of just about every bride we play it for.
There a couple youtube ceremony videos using this song. Hear is a link to one that jusi shows the CD cover.
Im thinking about free fallin, cant commit 100% still looking but thats the one I keep going back to!
Ok so I have been looking for songs and have found these that I like, but not sure if any of then are the one...
Just like heaven - vitamin string quartet
Only hope - switchfoot
all you need is love
clair de lune
First day of my life, bright eyes
hallelujah - instrumental
Eight days a week - after ceremony
Here there and everywhere
bach cello suite - guitar
sweet the sting instrumental
Jackie's strength - instrumental
a sorta fairytale - instrumental
got my list - onlinedrawing
I've always wanted to walk down the aisle to the "Chairman's Waltz" from Memoirs of a Geisha. It's both lovely and haunting and a very romantic moment in the movie.
The violin is killlerrrrr.
