maybe take it to a seamstress? My mom's veil was the same way... but she can't find hers :( so I'll be making mine!
Yeah I think I'm going to need to bring it to someone professional. I'd hate to ruin it by trying to attack it myself!
I was actually thinking about doing the same thing and thought it was a great idea but didnt know where to start! Sorry I just wanted to let you know what a great question and how you get a response on this. :)
I'm wearing my mom's veil also and it is still on the Juliet cap she wore with it. I actually brought it with me when I went dress shopping and the store I bought my dress from is going to be taking it off of the Juliet cap for me and putting it on to a simple comb. They are doing the alterations on my dress too, so it's working out quite nicely.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about here? My mom's veil has been beautifully preserved and I'd like to use it for my wedding. However, I'd want to remove it from that "cap" thing that seemed to be popular at the time. Does anyone have any tips? Or know of someone trustworthy who could do it for me in the Baltimore area?
