We're paying for the wedding ourselves and our famililes names won't be on the invites.  I found an invite suite that I really like, but it has an initial in the background (like "behind" the text).  Is using my FH's initial ok even though we aren't married yet?

I AM taking his last name if that matters at all.

We are probably going to use an invitation that does the same thing.  It's like a watermark, its really light but you can tell what it is.  We're using his initial, I don't see anything wrong with that.  As long as you guys don't send out thank you cards before the wedding that show your future name change then you should be fine!

eh, I don't think it is "right" but if you want to do it, I say go for it. If I got your invitation and noticed his last name initial was the background I'd probably be like, "hey! they're not supposed to do that yet!" but it wouldn't bother me.

I think it is totally fine! My friend just got her invitations and their monogram has his initial, and her parents are listed on the invitation.

I'm fairly sure that's what the initial is for.  We're using his last initial on the programs and some of the decor...go for it!

It isn't technically the correct thing to do (you're not "supposed" to use his initial until after the wedding) but really, who cares? If you love the invites then go for it.
