My fiance proposed to me after dinner (we went to a restaurant overlooking the ocean). After we walked a bit after din din there was a gazebo overlooking the water and that is where he proposed! We are planning on going there for lunch (I hate being out when there are too many ppl around) and then go for a stroll at the same spot and then most likely mkaing din din together and spending some quality time together! =)
as for a gift..im kind of at a loss..maybe some nice wine and a little something else
We're not doing anything on the 14th- probably just eat dinner at home.
But on the 15th we're using a gift certificate we got as a gift to go to a super-fancy French restaurant and then to see Dirty Dancing the Musical. (I have high expectations for the food, and low expectations for the show- but I so love Dirty Dancing that I just have to go).
Also- I told my husband- no flowers or chocolates until after Vday when they all go on sale!
We usually like to do things together like go ice skating. Alas, he's halfway across the country this year, so we'll be alone for V-day. But I always think it's fun to just DO something, instead of the typical dinner and a movie.
Something fun to do, which my FH and I have made a tradition of, is finding somewhere like most people don't choose to go to on Valentines day. For the past two years, we have gone to a Mexican restaurant and have margaritas and just enjoyed chatting with eachother and talking about the past year. I do enjoy the lovey dovey stuff very much so, but my FH isn't overly zelous with that type of stuff. Its great for us. Another idea would be to order in a meal and have a nice time at home just the two of you!
FI asked me last week if valentines day was just for girls. When I asked him what he meant he said... well the guy is always the one expected to do stuff for the girl.. so is it just for girls or is it for us too?
I was kind of awe struck by the question. I wanted to say; yes it's just for girls.. haha. But I didn't. I told him of course not. It's about being a couple. He just proposed 2 weeks ago so I think he was feeling a little drained in the romantic department.
I decided to take Vday into my hands. I scheduled a couple's massage for us at lunch time. I suggested we make dinner together since we love to cook. And then I think I might buy him a video game he wants for the WII. It's a 2 player fun game so I figured we could play together. I was also thinking about renting 9 1/2 Weeks. I've never seen it but have heard that it's a very SEXy movie. I also bought some fun red lngerie for that night ;)
He proposed two days after Valentine's last year, so he said that this year he is not spending as much money as last Valentine's! We're going to have a special dinner in, as he has to work in the evening. He just won major husband points though... he called me from work just after midnight and asked me if I would be his Valentine. So cute!

So I'm thinking about Valentine's Day and what we're going to do. I doubt we'll go out to eat since my area is overpopulated and all the restuarants will have an hour wait, at least, I'm sure. Maybe we'll do lunch? Cook dinner together? (Neither of us are good cooks)... rent a movie...Hmm. I'd like to do SOMETHING romantic, I just can't really think of anything :/
What are you doing?
