My husband recently suggested we try to vacuum seal the top tier of our wedding cake in hopes that it will keep well for our first anniversary. It’s currently sitting in our freezer exactly as we got it back from the caterer — wrapped in plastic in the cake box. We got our sealer as a shower gift and don’t have much experience with it yet. Does anyone know how well a cake will hold up to vacuum sealing? Will it get completely smushed? It has buttercream icing and a fruit spread filling.
