Gaps are fairly common where I’m from(aus) but as a guest I would not be keen on 2 hours. Also this wedding party eating first is something I’ve never heard of before. What do the rest of the guests do?jus sit there and socialise probably hungry while you eat yummy smelling food? Seems odd to me.

Oh that makes it a 3 hour gap. As a guest I would not be impressed. Especially if I traveled an hour to get there.

If I have a gap it will be max an hour and my guests will be able to go in the reception room with plenty of things to do. And even then I feel bad having a gap. 3 hours is waaaay too much and unless I was VERY close to you I probably wouldn’t go because of it.
