I used to work & live in Beaver Creek, so I can try.

The two places I would recommend are Garf’s in Lionshead, it’s great, LOUD apres-ski fun. They have a location in Whistler too and it’s good. And the Sandbar if you want to dance.

But really, it’s all in the village.

There is fantastic outlet shopping about an hour’s drive away in Silverthorne…. but that may not be honeymoon material. As for skiing/riding as intermediates or above, I recommend Northwoods, and that you make the trek over to Blue Sky at least once. Also, the Wildwoods smokehouse is fantastic to eat lunch, yummy food and the cornbread was to die for.

I went to Vail for my bachelorette party (Colorado native here!) and we had soooo much fun! If you want to do some brewery touring, Breckenridge Brewery isn’t too far away and it is really fun! Also, there are a few bars in Vail that are great to go out to for a night out. There is a dance club and one that plays live music. Both are good. I’ll try to think of more things…

@Mrs.tobe: We were just in Vail for my first ever ski trip (kind of wasted on me, I never made it off the beginner hill lol) but we found this great cafe with delicious coffee, cozy atmosphere, and filling food just a few miles from Vail-  Route 6 Cafe at 41290 Us Hwy 6, Eagle-Vail, CO 81620 (970) 949-6393. It was the perfect breakfast stop after checking out of our hotel.

Here’s the Yelp page:

I know it’s not the most glamorous place, but after overpriced and mediocre Vail food, trust me this place is going to be a delicious, comfort food blessing!

In Vail itself, check out the restaurant Bart & Yeti’s – great ribs!

@Mrs.tobe: I’ll give you SO’s recap since I didn’t hit the real slopes: he was CRAZY about the skiing! He had a blast exploring all the different trails, mapping out where he’d been, and for such a popular destination (and during skiing season too) he found a lot of trails where it was just him.

I hope you’re staying somewhere with hot tubs; we stayed at the Vail Marriott and they had several outdoor hot tubs scattered throughout and it was magical! It was still snowing, and we were able to score an enormous hot tub all to ourselves because everyone else was scared away by the flurries

We had tons of fun on our trip, I’m so excited for you! You’re going to have an amazing time

Oh one last idea, the Route 6 Cafe has the cutest coffee mugs. SO liked his so much he bought one at the “giftshop”, and it came with a free Route 6 Cafe sticker and lip balm. I think it’d be a cute honeymoon souvenir, to sip your morning coffee from and remember Vail ๐Ÿ™‚

I absolutely LOVE Vail!! My fiance and I went last December and had a wonderful time. We stayed at a fantastic boutique hotel called The Sonnenalp. Everything about the hotel was perfect. The food was great and the breakfast is the best I’ve had anywhere. The gym is also very nice and you can’t beat the service. Our room was wonderful. It had a walk in closet, a GIANT bathroom with a large whirlpool tub, shower, and heated floors, a fireplace, and a balconny with a wonderful view of the mountains. Here are some pictures. Definitely check it out!!!!

they have a thing called EpicMix on your day passes where it records which lifts you ride and you can scan your pass when your pictures are taken and they’ll all download to your smartphone? I thought it was so cool!
