El dorado seaside totally. I was there for a wedding and the food, rooms, and romance level was amazing. The travel agent the group used gave us a bonus massage and candlelight beach dinner for 2. If you are on a budget and need some free perks, totally check mt TA out! Jennifer D at VIP vacations. Just tell her what you found she will get you a good price. Tell her Madison sent you because I think she only takes referrals.(she is the Fox News travel specialist). Message me if you have any questions.
I second the recommendation for the El Dorado resorts. They have one of the best honeymoon packages available and it's complimentary for anyone staying in an oceanfront junior suite or higher room category (package inclusions listed below)! I'm actually going to El Dorado Royale in a couple of weeks w/my husband for a vacation & can't wait (stayed @ Seaside Suites last summer). You won't be disappointed!
Private romantic candle light dinner on the beach for the couple
Chilled bottle of domestic champagne delivered to the couple's room upon arrival
Couples 1/2 hour massage lesson
Tropical floral arrangement in room
Guaranteed king size bed
Special in room towel arrangement daily
Bathrobes for use during stay
I've never stayed at any of the El Dorado resorts but my husband and I went to the Valentin for our honeymoon and were not disappointed! It was truly perfect. I second getting a travel agent for a better deal and more perks- no matter where you stay. Check out TripAdvisor for reviews of both properties. Is El Dorado adults only? That was a decision point for us and I would have really hated to have had other peoples' children on our honeymoon. Good luck!
I voted for Valentin because I'm going there for my honeymoon in three or four weeks :) I am so excited! Like you, we didn't want to go to Mexico for our honeymoon (at least, not more than we wanted to go to other places), but we wanted a place we wouldn't feel guilty for relaxing.

Hey girls!
i'm deciding between the Valentin Imperial Maya or the El Dorado Seaside Suites.
I've been going back and forth for about a month now. I'm not that keen on traveling to Mexico for my honeymoon to begin with, but it's really all we can afford for the amount of luxury both of these seem to be offering.
If anyone has been to either of these places and can offer any words of advice, or point me in the right direction, that would be great!
Thanks!
