    Hey ladies,

What are you all doing for Valentines Day this year?

It's our first married one, and I am looking for some good ideas!

I'm completely lost on this one too and would love to hear some great ideas :)

I was thinking about making him a scrap book of us.. kind of cheesey but hey that's what this holiday is all about!

I got him the first season of LOST since he is wanting to collect it and I think we are going to the movies.

The scrapbook is a lovely idea...not cheesy at all!

DH always kids me about writing a conversation book so I was going to start one this year but I haven't decided how I'll do it: do I do it in a book that we can keep adding to or make it a complete book?  I'm leaning towards the one where we can add questions.

I'm getting him a few small presents and possibly making him gingerbread cookies, maybe heart shaped ones? Also I'm playing with the idea of making a gingerbread "basket" to put the cookies in. Any ideas ladies?

One thing we are doing this year is is splitting up dinner and dessert. He is planning dinner and I am planning dessert. I am thinking of planning a cozy fire-side dessert with sparkling cider in lieu of champagne (he doesn't drink). As for a gift, I have no clue!

@ missrain-We are doing the exact same thing!  DH makes great homemade sauce and meatballs so he'll make that, and I was thinking of doing heart-shaped brownies.

As for gifts, we don't do much.  He LOVES football so I found a chocolate shaped football and a $10 Dunkin Donuts gift card from our furbabies.

I went to the scrapbook store and got a little mini binded book, and scrapbooked the pages and put in photos of us and the puppies and wrote in notes and had cute little things all over it. Im proud of it, it's so cute :)

We decided on not doing gifts this year because we are saving every penny we have for our house down payment and also opted not to go out to a restaurant...instead we are cooking a five couse meal together and hosting a dinner party for another couple the night before V-day! Exotic Mushroom Soup, Goat cheese Salad, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Grilled Sirloin and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. On V-day, we are packing a lunch and heading to the beach for the day. The dinner sounds a bit pricey but believe it or not...it is cheaper than a restaurant :)

We're dropping some cash on a super nice meal at a restaurant we've been wanting to go to for a while on the 12th.  As for the 14th, I think we are going to cook dinner together... something we do often but this time we'll be making something we've never made before (and will be a little time-consuming).  We can't wait!

I'm trying to do something like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Table-Topics-Conversation-Cards-Original/dp/0975855603/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1265641743&sr=8-1

Before the wedding, I joked "What are we going to talk about now?" because a lot of the conversations we had were about the wedding.  I joked that we should get a conversation book and DH said I should make one.  Every now and then DH will say "What's your next chapter about?"

It's also our anniversary, so here's what we/I'm doing:

    going to a B&B Fri/Sat nights

    handmaking him a card

buying him a new camera (we just have the cheapo digital type)...we are kinda going big this year, bc we didn't go expensive on each other's wedding day presents, since we were paying for most of the wedding....also, I'm due in August, so it's probably our only anniversary alone for awhile!  ;)

We're saving hardcore for the wedding, so we had a $50 limit this year.  I stalked the sale section at The Golf Warehouse and was able to get him golf sunglasses and a new Taylor Made hat for under $50!  Score!

We're going to just order takeout that night I think.

We have a $50 limit, too.

DH is a climber, and can't where his ring when he climbs so I got him a nice leather cord to wear his ring on around his neck while he is climbing. I also spent some money on some fun things for us to *ahem* play with in the bedroom, so I think it will be a fun night.

I still have to figure out what to do for our dessert... time is running out for reservations, but I think I am still leaning towards staying in. I wonder what he has planned for dinner!

It's our first newlywed Valentines too, but we are both skipping town with friends.  He's going fishing with the boys for the weekend.  And I'm going skiing with my girlfriends in Colorado.  We'll probably have a nice dinner at home the night before we leave, but it's not really a big deal to us.
