- Wedding: September 2013
I absolutley lucked out and loved every single one of my vendors so if you are looking for some great people, check these out!
Cliff Ma http://www.cliffma.com/
I can’t say enough nice things!! He was fun, reasonably priced, and the few photos I have gotten back (wedding was just on Saturday) are beyond amazing. He had a ton of equipment, lots of ideas, totally professional, and really made us feel special. I do have an adventurous side, so I hiked up my dress to get to a few different places but it was so so so worth it.
Grouse Mountain (Timber Room)
Perfect for 50 people! Loved our intimate wedding that felt alot bigger than it was! The room is all windows down one side, and my ceremony was on the big wrap around deck. The event coordinators were all awesome, and helped me alot. I didn’t have a wedding planner, or a doc, and they made it all easy. The room is already beautiful, so all we brought were some simple centrepieces and a few extra flourishes. You only get an hour or so to decorate the room before the event, but we found that was more than enough time for our simple decor. The food there was extordinary. They worked with us as we wanted to do a family style service. Everyone was sooo full! The only downside is that the drinks are a little pricey. Bottles of wine start at $29, and drinks start at $5.75 plus tax, plus gratuity. We did wine with dinner (more than half a bottle per person), and two drink tickets per guest, and everyone was totally happy.
Sweetease Cupcakes http://www.sweeteasecupcakes.com/
Cathy was awesome to work with and makes delicious cupcakes!! We met for our tasting and she brought soo many samples, all amazing. My husband doesn’t normally like sweets and cake, but loved these. She has a ton of different flavours and uses high quality ingredients. Sooo yummmy.
DJ and Photobooth
Man About Town Entertainment http://manabouttownent.com/
Micheal was an awesome DJ! Kept everyone dancing and really got a good read of the room. He played all the songs we had requested, and mixed them all together so they actually worked! We also got our photobooth through him and it was fantastic! Not only did the photos print out on site so people could take them home, but you could also enter your email address and it would email you a copy as well. I thought this was fantastic, and I don’t care how cliche photobooths are getting, they are soooo fun!!!
Hair and Makeup
Carmen Tse Makeup http://www.carmentsemakeup.com
Carmen and her team did a great job getting me and my bridsmaids ready that day! There were 6 of us in total, and Carmen came with two helpers. They were actually a bit early, set up and ready to go super fast, and I felt like a princess sitting on the tall makeup chair she brought lol. They were all very nice and took suggestions very well. There was a range of hair types and styles to work with and they managed to get all of us looking fabulous.
I found Paula on the BC Government Vital Statistics website, and was sooo glad that I did. She was so nice, and had a lovely way of speaking. She just seemed to have such a sweet and kind way about her, and she actually teared up at the end of our ceremony.
I was so lucky! I planned this wedding from a distance and basically had to book alot of people sight unseen. I didn’t even see Grouse before booking it! Everything worked out perfectly and I loved every part of our day! Hope this helps some other brides who are looking for genuine, awesome vendors!!
