We're having weddings both in Seoul and my hometown (near Toronto).  I will have the whole summer off, but FI only has 1 week of holidays (PER YEAR) and will be able to get 1 week of 'mandatory' honeymoon vacation.  We not only have to do travel time to and from Korea and the wedding in that time...we also have to entertain his parents who speak no English and will be in North America for the first time AND visit with all of my relatives who will be visiting from all over the country.  With all of this craziness and only 2 weeks, it seems nearly impossible we will get a honeymoon. (We could take a honeymoon next year when he gets his vacation days again...but I don't really feel like it's a honeymoon 1 year later).

The potential plan that we've come up with is doing a stop-over in Vancouver on the way back to Korea...sending his parents on ahead...and then spending a few days by ourselves.  I'm just wondering if any Vancouverites/BC brides could recommend romantic and/or quirky (we like both!) places that would be good for a honeymoon.  We probably won't have more than 2 days, so we'll probably have to stay in the city itself.

    Any ideas or recommendations?

There is tons to do in Vancouver :) Stanley park is a must do and all of the restaurants in the park are fantastic. The Vancouver Aquarium is in the park as well and it's so much fun. Robson street is shopping central and a little farther down (towards Denman ave) there's a chocolate fondue place that's cute for a little pot of chocolate and strawberries.

Granville island is also a neat place to go - lots of arts/culture and markets.

As for places to stay, I don't really stay downtown often. The Wedgewood hotel is a swanky boutique hotel near Robson that's really cool (and also quite costly!) and the Pan pacific hotel is right at the Port of Vancouver.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions! :)
