Just got engaged on Wednesday and have 7 months to plan. We want to get married May 31, 2014 and are looking for an indoor/outdoor venue, either for just the ceremony or both ceremony and reception.
We don’t want a golf course or restaurant and my fiancee has his heart set on a Barn, park, etc. There aren’t very many of these around for 150 guests. I have found the usual; Stanley Park (too expensive), Brock house, Saar Farm (under renovation), etc. Any ideas??
Thanks in advance!

Did you check out Vandusen gardens? They have a beautiful garden where you can have your ceremony and you can do your reception outdoors too!!

Thanks for the tips, unfortunately everything suggested above was booked including Van Dusen which was booked by a friends friend!! Small world!
We have booked the Allan Emmott Hall in Burnaby for our reception but are still hoping to find an outdoor ceremony site. We could get Burnaby Village Museum MEadow, so now we have to find tents and chairs for reasonable prices!

check out Craigslist for rentals. Some sellers offer a deal if you book with them within a time frame or if you just mention you found them on craigslist. That’s how I found my photographer! She offered half price on her package if I went with her before February of 2014 and as long as I’m getting married before the end of 2014.
