Ahh, when I asked my OB about lifting weights during (early) pregnancy she warned me against it because she said I could get varicose veins in my perineum, and pretty much any about pregnancy that involves the word "perineum" sounds scary to me, so that was enough to turn me off weights (and onto the couch, apparently). So yeah, I knew about it, but haven't experienced it (yet? fingers crossed?).
If it's not a request for TMI, how did you know? Did you start feeling uncomfortable and investigate, or did your OB tell you?
@Lozza: I found a tender/painful spot every time I wiped or scrubbed in the shower or crossed my legs a bit too close while wearing jeans and decided to take a mirror to the area and noticed what kind of looked like a blood blister but since I couldn't curl around my belly like I used to be able to, I had my OB check it out this morning during my regular prenatal checkup to figure out what it really was. Apparently they stay with you until after baby is born.

Why did no one tell me I could get varicose veins on my vulva? Most things you read mention them on your legs, not down there! Finger crossed I just have the one and more don't show up. It's quite uncomfortable. Did anyone else deal with them?
