@BushelAndAPeck: Some of my favorite restaurants (I like to eat on the healthy/vegetarians side of things): Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, Wazuza at Encore, Holsteins at the Cosmopolitan, the secret pizza place at the Cosmopolitan, Le Thai in downtown (take the bus!), Sage in Aria for a fancy dinner, Olives at Bellagio for a late lunch/happy hour, La Cave wine bar at Wynn for dinner.

A fun splurge thing to do is have tea or cocktails at the Mandarin Oriental. The view is gorgeous and it’s so, so elegant and calming. Another special cocktail spot is Parasol Down at the Wynn to watch the water show.

I love hopping from casino to casino gawking at the lobbies and decor!

Where are you staying? Hope it’s a got a great pool!

Early breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi (in the Paris Hotel).  Best coffee we had all vacation, the breakfast crepes are AMAZING (Fi was actually jealous of my breakfast after he tasted it), nice outdoor seating with misters to keep you cool and it was fun to watch people do the walk of shame at 7:00/7:30 AM.

Ooh, and the Neon Museum was really cool to visit (but it is mainly outdoors).  You have to book your tour ahead of time though.

@BushelAndAPeck:  My FI is dying to go to Vegas.  He’s a HUGE fan of Fear & Loathing and Bret Easton Ellis!  He is so jealous that I’ve been a few times.  As soon as this wedding is over, that is our next trip (maybe even a second honeymoon.)

Oh, do the Dam Tour if you get the time, or you can drive over Hoover Dam on the way to the Grand Canyon with a bus tour.

@remijp:  Yes to all of those restaurants.

Plus I LOVE Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.  Brunch or dinner (I had an amazing steak) they have great views of the fountains.  I actually prefer it over their Eiffel Tower restaurant.

Oh and I would say do a nice buffet at Cosmoplitan, Caesars, Bellagio, Wynn, or Aria.  Don’t bother with a buffet at a cheaper hotel!

I’m also a fan of walking around so I just like to walk through casinos, look at the lobbys/casino floors, do some people watching, etc.

Also since it’s August…definitely spend some days out at the pool.
