@aprose: I have been to Vegas and love it there! I’m not even a gambler…It’s just so neat. If my FI liked it we would be going there to elope in a heartbeat….He’s just not a fan of the atmosphere.
My friends parents eloped there years ago and they recommend it to everyone. I’ve seen there wedding pictures and didn’t know they were in Vegas until they said so. From what I’ve heard you can have a very nice beautiful wedding or a fun funky Vegas wedding. GL! Sorry I don’t have personal experience.

My parents were married in a Methodist church in Las Vegas. They went through the pre-marital session with the pastor and everything right before the ceremony, had witnesses, and it was a simple wedding on the strip. Nothing tacky. If I was going to do a Vegas wedding, I would do it at Lake Las Vegas and elope at either Loews Lake Las Vegas or Valley of Fire. They make the most beautiful photos and you avoid the whole potential ‘tackiness’ of getting married on the strip.

I’ve seen a couple of Vegas weddings here… I love the neon museum for pics!

My brother just got married in Vegas on Saturday! We watched it via webcam. I thought it was simple and perfect for them. It wasn’t anything customized and it was very laid back (though she did wear a full bridal gown), but it was a great and easy fix. And I heard they had an awesome time doing it. They got married at the Bally’s Hotel.

we loved vegas, Im sure you will find a chapel or venue to suit you. We saw quite a few brides there when we went in different hotels.

We got married in Vegas in February. It was amazing and perfect! We actually chose a country club in Henderson to have both the ceremony and reception. It fit into our budget better than a casino reception on the strip, but there are so many choices you will be able to find something. I am so glad we chose Vegas, and so were our friends and family. Everyone had a great time 🙂

Vegas is SO much fun and offers a huge range of options- whether you want an extravagant wedding, a quickie, and everything in-between!
Plus I always imagine that friends and family would love an excuse to go there.

We got married in Vegas at Mandalay Bay with 40 of our friends and family there. We loved how easy it was. They e-mailed me a nine-page worksheet, I filled it out and faxed it back and we were DONE. We were there with our family and friends for about five days and then we did a separate honeymoon in Palm Desert. We would’ve been happy to honeymoon in Vegas but we couldn’t think of a delicate way to send our families home before us, without us.
