I live in Vegas. There really isn't a nice part of downtown. Most of the wedidng chapels are down there. If you are just getting married there then off to the strip you should be fine. It is def not the nicest part of town but I wouldn't worry too much. It is on a main road, well most of the chapels are, not sure which one you were looking at. You can email me privately I can tell you more. :)
I am new to this website & just saw this post. I am actually getting married at the place that you are talking about. I looks wonderful & I am not worried about it! Good luck with whatever you have decided!

It's not too scary there but I'd probably go during the day. Also, Henderson just opened up a new branch too!
If you're looking for a nice wedding chapel, I recommend Little Chapel of the West. It's on the strip right across from Mandalay Bay - which is a beautiful part of town and very close to the Vegas sign for pictures!

Hi all, another crazy post from me. I was so excited to see Miss Dumpling's post on her experience getting her license (http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/03/05/they-let-geeks-get-married-in-las-vegas/#comments) :)
However, when she went into the "bad stuff" about the area, my heart sank a little. The building that I want to go to says that they are right across the street from the bureau. I am assuming there is only one license bureau in Vegas!
The website states:
Marriage Licenses are issued across the street from Vegas Weddings World-Class Wedding Chapel at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau. The Marriage License Bureau is located on the ground floor of the Regional Justice Center. The address is:
Clark County Marriage License Bureau 201 E. Clark Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89101 (Northwest corner of 3rd Street and Clark)
I really want to get married at this place (I don't know if I can say the name, PM me if it will help!) but if she says that this is the not so good part of town, should I not? I don't see how they got all these raving reviews from everyone if it is a horrible area of Vegas! Thanks in advance for any help!
