You could do a cascading fingertip veil the same color as your gown with a ribbon edge in the color at the hem of your gown. You might also want to consider adding Swarovski crystals and rhinestones. A lot of it depends on how formal your wedding is and what look you want.
I think you're right about going overboard with the sparklies! ;) But, whatever length you choose, I think you should definitely go with a very sheer (one layer) veil so that everyone can still see all of the fabulous beading and crystals on the bodice of your dress.
I have to say, I had a fingertip length, angel cut veil (very sheer, one layer, with beading around the edges) and I really enjoyed it because it wasn't cumbersome at all. I wore it ALL night and it wasn't too long, didn't drag or get caught on anything. But veils in general are just so gorgeous, I'm sure whatever length/style you choose, it will be perfect!
I second the ribbon-edge veil option. That's such a pretty color in the trim & the hem of the gown, the ribbon would be nice to bring it out.

I have a gorgeous gown, but I need to purchase a veil. The bodice is completely covered in beads and Swarovski crystals, and I have no idea what kind of veil to purchase. I am considering a fingertip veil because I think the length would look nice with the dress as it has a cathedral train. However, I am also thinking about an elbow length veil because I planned to wear my hair in a half updo and wear the veil lower than I would with a different hairstyle. I've seen a few veils with some light beading on the edge of the veil which I liked, but I am leery of those because I have purchased a tiara and I don't want to overdo it with the accessories. There is a fine line between elegance and pure tackiness. Should I stick with a plain veil or a lightly decorated one? And which length? What have other brides done? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
