Hi I fell in love with this dress but I’m lost regarding which type of veil would suit it? Any advice or help please? I think it will need a simple veil, as it has a lot of detail, but I don’t know how long I should make it and which type of veil? Do you think a cathedral long mantilla veil would go with it or would it be too much? or maybe a shorter mantilla veil? I despereatly need help :S

I think it really depends on how you want to wear your hair, whether you will be wearing a necklace or a bolero and whether you’re having a formal church wedding or an informal one. If you’re very tall (like the model), I think a cathedral mantilla veil might be nice. If you’re not super tall, I think a mantilla veil, as they are usually decorated with lace, might be a bit overpowering because your dress has a lot of detail and your whole bridal ensemble would end up looking quite busy. A simple unadorned cathedral or fingertip veil might be better. I don’t know, I’m just talking from the top of my head here.
How about you go to the bridal salon, put on your dress and try on a bunch of different veils? I think that’s the surest way to know what looks best!

Thanks for your help! The thing is I saw the wedding dress online, so I can’t really try it out 🙁 My hair will be half up, half down for the day and I will not wear a bolero. The wedding is formal. I think you are right, a mantilla will be too much. What do you think about a fingertip plain veil?

I think a plain fingertip veil is a really safe choice, it goes with just about anything! The only thing I’d be worried about is that it would visually “chop you in two”, if you know what I mean, if it hit right at the hips (the part where the lace on your dress stops and the interesting detail on the front of your skirt begins), you know what I mean? But if you’re not a shortie (like me, lol) I don’t think that would be a really big problem!

It looks really nice withou a veil, like the model.
