I was planning to take mine off, but I just sort of forgot about it for a while. I was also enjoying carrying it over my arm just because it seemed old fashioned and romantic but once I got to the point of actually trying to sit in a chair and eat, it became a hassle so I took it off. So basically, my advice is leave it on as long as you want! Unless it's really complicated for some reason, you can just have someone help you pull the comb out whenever it strikes you, so this is one wedding detail you really don't need to plan in advance. :-)
I left mine on thru supper, First Dance, Cake Cutting, Bouquet/Garter Toss and then I took it off. I didn't have to take it off (ie. it wasn't annoying or getting in the way) (fingertip length)...but the pins were starting to hurt my head. I am glad that I wore it for the photos of the cake cutting and bouquet toss. I like the way the pictures look with the veil...something "bridal" about that veil!
I'm planning on wearing mine the entire night (waltz length which is longer than fingertip) I've always felt like: 1. How many times does a girl get to wear a veil? 2. Why spend the money and only wear it for the ceremony?
Just a personal thing I guess.
I would leave it on for some of the formal pictures... maybe wear it through diner then take it off! That way you wear it for most of the night but hopefully doesn't get in your way.
I am wearing mine all night. When else do you get to wear a veil. I want to look like a bride all day.
i totally wore mine all night long. i even wore it the next day during the post-wedding luncheon. i looooooved my veil. and i think it totally made the whole "bridal" look. i actually thought it would get annoying and i was totally open to taking it off when i got sick of it, but obviously i never got to that point!
Ditched it. Wasn't planning on having one in the first place, but my mom offered hers. I wore it for the ceremony, but since my hairstyle had lots of little (fake) flowers scattered down the back of my hair, I knew I didn't want to hide all that work all night. Plus, I didn't want to damage it since it's so old. I did sit around the house w/ it on a couple times, tho', just for fun. It weirded my hubs (then FI) out.

Hi Bees,
Just curious as to how many of you are going to leave you veil on during the reception. Mine is a single layer (no blusher), finger tip length, satin trimmed veil. I haven't yet decided whether I should leave it on, or take it off after pictures...
What do you girls think?
