When buying a veil online, how do you know if it’s going to match your dress? If it doesn’t match the dress exactly, how obvious would it be?
I found a veil on etsy that I love, but it comes in a bunch of different options for colors and I don’t know what to choose!!

Oops! Could a moderator move this to “accessories”? THANKS!

I dont know anything about color matching, but a friend got married recently in a diamond white dress with a WHITE veil. You couldn’t tell a difference inside, but outside it was clearly two different colors, just an FYI. She looked stunning regardless though :-]

Did you order your dress yet? You may want to wait till you at least know what color the dress will be before you order the veil.
Unless your dress is really yellowish ivory or stark white, you’ll probably be able to get away with an in-between color like diamond white. I wore a diamond white dress with an ivory mantilla and you couldn’t tell the difference at all. You can also use accessories to balance things out if there’s a big difference in color. For example, my mom added some ivory tulle to the neckline of my dress which made them match even better.

you can always request for fabric swatches from the seller. you can then match the swatches to your dress and pick the closest one!

My dress and veil were obviously differnet colors. My dress was a really dark ivory, and my veil a light ivory. Didn’t bother me though!

Wow, both gorgeous pictures 🙂
Thanks for the advice! I have my dress already, and it is definitely NOT white. The designer just calls the color “ivory”. I guess that getting samples is the best way to match, but now I am not so worried that it will be too obvious (and if it is obvious it will look terrible).
